That is the great thing about time...you tend to forget all of the bad times, and just remember the good times! We celebrated my grandpa & grandma Olsen's 60th wedding anniversary this last Saturday. It was a fun time to reflect on their lives, and how much we love them.
My grandma & grandpa Olsen are amazing people. I look up to them, and love them in more ways that I can express. They were the perfect grandparents as I was growing up, and still are. They loved us, and showed us that they loved us, more than anything. They are 2 of the most unselfish people that I know. I have fond memories of many things with them, one of which was my grandma babysitting us...she would always take us to McDonald's! Every Sunday we would go and visit them, and with out fail my grandma would have 3-5 flavors of ice cream for the grandkids to eat. There wasn't a Sunday that I can remember that we weren't offered ice cream, or maybe it was that we asked for it!!! I am thankful for their presence in my life, and for the good example's that they have been to me and to my husband and children.
I am so thankful that grandma is feeling better now, and you can definately see a difference in her!
The anniversary cake, with a picture of their wedding!
Grandma got a little choked up over the gift that we gave her. Emily found a vendor at Swiss Day's that made a family tree, and we had one made for them with all of their children, and all of their children's children. We had to stop there, because there wasn't enough room for everyone else! She was really touched by this...what an awesome idea. Thanks Emily!
We made them feed each other cake, and it was really cute to see them.
