Yippee...schools out!!!

Today was the last day of school for my 2 older kids. They were so excited last night, they couldn't fall asleep! The woke up early this morning, and couldn't stop talking about it. I then remembered being their age, and feeling the same way...no worries, no school, no stress...could life be any better? I think not!

They only went to school for an hour and 15 minutes today...nothing like a waste of a day! They had fun, took pictures of their friends, won prizes, talked to their school friends for the last time in a couple of months, hugged their teachers, and came home! Kylee was really sad to leave the 5th grade, she has had an AMAZING teacher this year, and she is really going to miss her. She has learned so much, Mrs. Franson has taught her so much, and really loved Kylee. Cayden's teacher was awesone as well. He was a little too laid back for my child, so hopefully next year will be a little more structure, but he is a great teacher, and in his defense he has had a really naughty bunch of boys in his class this year (yes, my child would be one of those!)

Cayden played a mean four square, and had fun doing a relay race!

The last week has been a really fun week for the kids, they have had field day, Kylee had the 5th grade water party...too bad it was 68 degrees, and windy!

Kylee was soaking wet, and shouldn't have worn jean shorts...they were so wet, they nearly fell off her skinny little body!

Here are a couple of pictures of them with their report cards, and their advancement slips to move on to the next grade! UGGGHHH! That means that Kylee will be in 6th, Cayden in 3rd, and Halle in Kindergarten. Kill me know!

Luckily we have the whole summer to look forward to!

More Memorial Day Pictures...

I can't figure out how to post more pictures, so here they are! Enjoy!

I forgot the best part of the trip, we were just getting realy to leave, and then out of no where, a seagull decided to dump it's load on dad's face and shirt! It was so funny...he had poop all over his cheek, and all over his shirt! He then decided to look up to the sky for more!!! This was a classic Mike!

Birthday party, preschool graduation, and song festival...

Quick update, and some pictures of the lastes events. Halle went to her cousins birthday party...the best party that she has ever been to! They went and each got pedicures, manicures, and their hair done. She felt like a princess, and I couldn't resist posting these pictures.

Then we had a preschool graduation...that is correct my baby is heading to Kindergarten next year...here are her cute pictures from her big graduation day!

Last Friday was the song festival at Highland Elementary, and as much as the kids don't want people to see these pictures, they are still cute. Even though Cayden looks like an elf, and the song they sang was from "The Sound of Music" I don't think they were supposed to look like elves...! Kylee's song was from the broadway show "Wicked". They had fun, and I had great seats to see both of them!

Memorial Day road trip...

Well, we haven't seen my grandma & grandpa (Robert) in quite a while, so we decided to go visit them. We got up early loaded up the car, and we were off! We made 1 stop in Fillmore for a bathroom break, and arrived in the Beave(r) at around 11:00. The kids were so excited...(they don't get out much!) to go, they each had a few things packed for the "trip". It was good to see grandma & Robert, they looked good, and it is always fun to drive down to Beaver, and see what is going on! Well, actually there is never anything going on, it is just good to go see them. We sat on the back porch and watched all of the birds eat out of their bird feeders. My grandma's prized posession is that she has about 10 bird feeders, and they all bring different, unique birds. She loves to just sit and watch them. Cayden loved this, he sat out there wil grandma for 15 minutes just watching the birds. We ate dinner, and then all of the men instantaneously fell asleep in their spots. Grandma, Kylee, Cayden, Deb, and I (and Halle) played Mexican Dominoes??

Then the day started to come to life! Amanda & Dave (my cousin and her husband) and their 3 kids, and Dan & Nancy came down for a visit as well. We all sat around and talked for a while, until we noticed that Jaxon (Amamda's son) was filling all of my grandma's prized bird feeders up with water!!! Grandma about had a child right there on the floor! Dave went out and turned off the water, and took Jaxon's clothes off, because they were soaking wet!

In the mean time, grandma went down to the storage room to get all of the flowers that they had to decorate the gravesites. She noticed standing water...not a good sign! Long (and emotion filled) story short. Jaxon had stuck the hose into the exhaust pipe of their furnace...thus filling it up with water. This isn't such a good thing when your grandma still uses the furnace on a regular basis, because she thinks that 65 degrees it more like 45! Furnace is still not working...but hopefully it will they will be able to fix it.

We got it cleaned up, and left for the cemetary. We decorated the graves, told my kids about my grandpa, and then left to come home. The kids were awesome, they watched movies, and read books on the drive to and from Beaver, there was no fighting, and they really enjoyed seeing where my grandpa was burried. It was a long and tiring day (driving does that to you I guess), but I am soooo glad that we went down to see them.

We are supposed to be having a bbq with the Parke's today...but it is pouring rain! What a lovely spring this has been. On the upside, our grass is really green!!!
Enjoy the pics!

Update on life...

So, here is the skinny on what is happening in our life!

Kylee had soccer tryouts on Tuesday, and also today, they had tons of girls try out, so that is always a plus. They are planning on cutting about 5, and picking up 5-6, really good players. So that is exciting to see their team actually all be on the same level. There are about 8 girls on the team that shouldn't be playing at the level we are at, but the way it works, you can only change 1/3 of your team, or you aren't allowed to "move up" in the league.

They are moving up to the highest level, they will be playing at the premier level, which is really exciting. They will have a lot tougher teams, and they will actually have to "work" to win. I do have to admit that it has been fun to see them blow away their competition!

As for the state cup, They played on Saturday, and tied that game. They should have lost by about 5 goals, but they hung in there. Kylee got the only goal, and it was AMAZING! There were a couple of really bad calls, and I am not just saying that because it was against us, but we have spoken with a couple of people about what happened, and they can't believe it. Anyway, they got a PK in the box, and scored. We were ok with a tie though, because we didn't play our best. *Also, one of the starting forwards on the team is out with a broken foot* That makes it tough.

She advanced on to the next bracket in first place, and she played last night against their biggest rival. These two teams have gone back and forth for the past 4 years, winning and losing to each other. We won them in the championship game last spring, even though they said that they won. It's funny, we got the tr0phies =). We cleaned their clocks in Futsol, and won 1st again. The girls were really nervous going in, because Natalie was out, and that is huge. I couldn't, I mean didn't go, because I can't stand some of the parents on the other team. They have said some really crappy stuff about our girls, and especially about Clay. I felt really bad not going, but Cayden had baseball, and I needed to be home for that. Kylee called, and I could tell by the quiver in her voice that the outcome wasn't as she wanted. They had lost. They were out. She cried, and cried. I felt bad. She is really nervous about school today, because one of the girls from the other team goes to school with her, and really taunts her...but she does it in a way that is really "innocent" if that meks sense. I told her to hold her head high, and go in as the gracious loser. There always has to be a winner, and a loser, and you can't always be the winner. (as nice as that would be!)

There is always this fall, we will have a much better team, we will be ready to take them on, and hopefully beat the snot out of them...I mean win graciously!

As for Cayden, his baseball team is doing pretty well, he struggles, because there are some kids that don't take it as serious as he thinks that they should. He is a good player, and we probably should have moved him up to little league, but we will next year. He decided yesterday to give up soccer. This was a little sad for me. He is really athletic, and a darn good little soccer player, but he wasn't committed, and it wasn't fair to the team. He would love it once he got there, but NEVER wanted to go. I am not going to force him, this is his choice. He was playing up a year, so everyone on his team was in 3rd grade, and that was hard.

...the real reason is that he wants to play tackle football. I don't think that it is smart, but he wants to, and Clay said it was fine, so I will sign him up and pray to the good Lord above that he doesn't get killed, or learn any foul language before the season is up! He is SUPER excited! It is good for him to have something that he isn't competing with Kylee in. He needs to feel special too, and not always be compared to her. He always feels like she is better than him at everything, so this may be really good for his ego.

Halle has her pre-school graduation today...I guess that means that she is going to Kindergarten next year. CRAP. I am going to miss this girl like crazy! She is my little shopping buddy. She is my baby. I don't want to lose that control. She on the other had is really excited, and can hardly wait to go to school with the big kids, and ride the bus. She is really looking forward to her program today, she has been singing the songs, and then she stops and smiles, and says that I wasn't supposed to hear that, because it is a surprise! She might be kind of, I mean really spoiled, but she is so fun, and cute, and loving!

Well, there is the latest! Soccer is going to slow to a crawl for Kylee, they have 5 tournaments that they are playing in this summer, but besides that she will just have a couple practices a week. I can handle that. Cayden's baseball goes until the middle of June, and then they have the playoffs. Halle is done with dance, so we may have some time to just chill, and let the kids actually play with friends. Now that is a novel idea!

Pictures!

Here are the pictures from our adventures last week. I published the last post with out them, and I am not smart enough to figure out how to add them later!

Busy Week!

Boy have we had a BUSY week, and I am thankful that it is over! We started out with Kylee's team playing in the state cup, they tied their first game, with one of their star players out with a broken foot! Cayden had 2 baseball games, he got great hits in both games, and he plays a mean first base if I don't say so myself! Then Kylee had her first recital...she started taking guitar lessons in January, thanks to grandma & grandpa Parke. They offered to sign each of the kids up for music lessons when they get old enough to do them. She takes from a BYU student that comes to the house and teaches her here. She is actually pretty dang good. Her teacher makes her sing along with the songs, and Kylee really enjoys it. Then we were off to Halle's dance recital! She had a "dress rehearsal" on Friday from 3:45-8:45...incase you were wondering that is a really long time for a 5 year old! But, she really enjoys watching the older girls dance, and wants to do that when she gets bigger she said! Then we had to get home and get into bed, because Kylee had another soccer game, and Cayden had another baseball game, and then we were heading home to start the curling of Halle's hair. That is a feat with in it's self! She did really well, and her hair looked cute, these pictures don't do it justice. She was willing to sit through the curling, because she knew that she could put on mascara after it was done! Her daddy brought her some pink roses, and a stuffed pink cow to give her after her dance performance, it was so cute, he picked them out all by himself, and she LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them! She really does have him wrapped around her finger!

Anyway, it was a SUPER CRAZY week! We had a lot of fun, but boy was it tiring.

I had a great Mother's Day, Clay had great intentions of getting me something that I had wanted, but there was just no time, so he bought me a dozen roses, and gave me some money to but it myself! The kids each made me something really cute, and or thoughtful. We spent Sunday with both of our families, so I think it was a great day!

I don't think this week will be as crazy, Kylee only has soccer 5 times this week, and then try-outs start next week! Ahhh, the fun!
