Just as promised...

Ok, so I posted a while ago about a present I was making for Halle for her birthday, that ended up being a Valentine's present for each of them (because my awesome mom helped me make 3 instead of just 1 for Halle). I just got the time to hang them up, because we were gone for the last few days.

Anyhoo, here they are in all of their glory, I think they are super cute, and add such personality to each of their rooms. Clay was a little nervous about me making one for Cayden, he was worried that it would be too feminine, but trust me, you can't leave 1 child out (I learned the hard way!). I think it is masculine, and super cute over his window, instead of adding curtains or a valance.

My mom actually put the letters on, and stitched around them. They are quite big, it is hard to tell on the wall, because the walls are so tall. I am proud of my little un-crafty/creative self!

Thanks to my mom for all of her help, we slammed them out in about 5 hours! Yeah us!

Now, I am almost finished decorating Halle's room, the others are pretty close to being done (not bad, saying we have lived here for 6 flipping years!)

Halle's Birthday Present...

So, I posted a while back about some birthday surprises I had for Halle. I am posting about 1, the other one she, and Kylee & Cayden are getting for Valentines day, so I will post about that one at a later date.
I wanted to get some decorations for her room, because...well it has never been decorated. So I got some of the cutest letters, and sanded and painted them. I think they turned out pretty cute...a big pain in the fanny, but pretty cute!
She was super excited when she saw them on her new shelf. She also LOVES to do art work, color, paint, draw...anything with art. SO, in my head I had this great idea of making a little "clothes line" for her to hang her art on. It was much cuter in my head, but live and learn. She loves it, and changes the pictures daily!

See, here is the deal. The creativity gene didn't start working until it hit Emily, and Annalee...it must have had a short in it when it came to me. She wanted a lady bug cake. Simple I thought. It turned out looking like a bowling ball with cookies stuck to it. She love it though, and that is all that matters. I bet Emily is going to BEG me to send her a picture of this one to put on her blog! HA!
On the "A" I painted it, and then put this cool paint glitter all over it, it turned out so cute!
