Kylee's soccer team that has some darn good players lost their first game in almost 2 years last night...needless to say it was, and still is a sad day. It is really hard for Kylee to lose, because she puts everything into soccer, and playing her best. Unfortunately, there are some girls on her team, that don't think the same as her. They were playing a team that has only won 1 game, so I think Kylee's team went into this game a little cocky, and they thought (as well as Clay & I) that this would be an easy win...not the best way to think! The other team knew that they were playing an undefeated team, and they came out like wild fire. Kylee's team has an awesome offense, and a pretty good mid field, but their defense SUCKS! Sorry, I know that isn't a good word, but I couldn't find anything else that quite fit the bill. Anyway, Kylee scored the only goal for our team, and it was one sweet goal! WTG Kylee! But, you can't win a game with just an offense, most importantly you have to have an amazing defense, otherwise you will loose.
My heard broke last night for her, she just started to cry as soon as they called game, she tried to be tough, but she couldn't hold it back. Even this morning when she woke up, she felt sick, and was still really upset. It ia a hard lesson to let you kids go through, but they have to learn that it takes a whole team to win, not just 1 or 2. They played again this morning, and they won, 7-0, Kylee scored 2 of those goals, so her spirits seem to be up a little. They are still ranked #1, so that is good, but boy is it hard to let their little ego's get smacked around. I think it was good for them to realize that they aren't invincible, and they they have to play every game their best. So, needless to say it was a hard & sad lesson to learn, but probably a good one. What an awesome daughter I have, she just picks herself up, and keeps going!

Soccer, soccer,soccer...
it seems like that is all we do around here right now. I love to watch my kids play soccer, they are both really good at it, and really enjoy it, but after a season this long...I am really looking forward to a little time off! Especially since Kylee hasn't even had a "break" since last summer, they played in a couple of tournaments, and then they played Futson the whole winter.
Cayden's team was supposed to play his last game today, but because the other team forfeited they thankfully cancelled it (the weather has been more like January than almost May today!). His team starts into their tournament on Tuesday, and he has also started baseball. He is really looking forward to baseball, he really loves it. I think that he is brunt out on soccer, and may take a little break from it. His coach really wants him to stay and play, because he really is amazing, but he is playing up a year with boys that are 1-2 years older than him. He doesn't have any friends per say on his team, so he doesn't really LOVE it. I don't care what he does as long as he stays active, and has fun!

She is having fun, she on the other hand has tons of friends on her team, no one goes to her school, but they are all really good friends. After the state cup, I think there will be a little down time, right now they are practicing 2-3 times a week, with 2-3 games...it is really time consuming, and tiring for both her and us! But, she loves it, and I want her to stay active as well, so it is all worth it!
Now for something not soccer related, Halle is preparing for her dance recital that is coming up the second week in May. She is really excited, and loves this time of year! She is quite the cute little dancer, as long as she stays on the same planet (she tends to day dream a little!). She actually wants me to sign her up for soccer this next fall, because one of her friends is playing soccer...we'll have to see how that goes, I have to believe that she will be the one out on the field that is singing, and picking the flowers, and not even watching the ball! But, to each their own!
I will post pictures of both soccer and dance when I actually take them!

Spring Break...
So, this week has been spring break...yeah you read that correctly...1 whole week! When I was a tot, we got 2 measley days, if I am not mistaken. It has been a week of fun, chaos, boredom, rain, & lots of food...can it get any better?
So, apparently we didn't get the memo that if you don't go out of town for spring break, your parents pretty much suck! If I had gotten that memo, I still don't think that things would have been different, because it is Clay's busiest time of year.
But, I decided that I was going to be the best mom ever this week, and take the kids and do lots of fun things with them, oh yeah, we live in Utah, there are only 2 fun things...
Here is how the week has gone so far, Monday, we were planning on going to the zoo, but all over the news was word that this BIG storm was blowing in, and the winds would be horrible, so we opted to move that to another day...(btw, there wasn't any wind until about 4pm, so we could have gone) plan B for Monday, take the kids to eat lunch with Boompa at the cafe, and then we went to "Color Me Mine", a place where they get to pick a piece of pottery, and paint it, and then you pick it up after they glaze and fire it. They actually thought that this was pretty cool, and enjoyed it a lot. We will pick them up tomorrow, and they are really excited! Tuesday...rain, snow, and TONS OF WORK! Wednesday, I took the kids out to lunch, and then to buy a toy from Target. Now this would be a good choice, if there was anything there that they didn't already have 6 of (not that they have a ton of toys, but the selection of toys in my kids age is pretty slim pickin, except for Halle!)
Then the kids were invited to sleep over at grandpa and grandma Olsen's house, they had pizza, watched movies, and then all Heck broke loose! The one child that I was worried about not making it through the night, did the best! Halle went to sleep with out any problem, and slept the whole night! Not so well for Kylee, she got extremely home sick, and couldn't fall asleep. She ended up sleeping in grandma's bed with her. Grandpa ended up sleeping up stairs in the guest room with Cam (who was having night mares about Big Bears, or something like that :)). Cayden didn't do so bad until he was left down stairs in the basement with just himself. He soon realized this, and swiftly came up the stairs and thanked everyone for "Ditching him". I came to pick them up on Thursday morning, and grandma officially looked like she had been beaten over the head with a frying pan. She was so tired, she could hardly move! We (Emily, Annalee & I ) took the kids to Jumpin' Jacks in Springville, for a day of fun. The kids had a fun time there, Halle decided that she wanted to babysit Cam, and take care of him, and help him. I am not quite sure he wanted her to do that, but he kindly accepted her help! Then, because we hadn't had enough fun, we decided to take the kids to Cracker Barrell for some good food. Well, the kids were tired, extremely hungry, and really loud, and we had a really slow waitress. She was trying, but not quite quick enough. After we ate, we quickly left to go home and chill. Good times were had by all, now grandma might not agree, because she is still trying to recover from Wednesday!
Then Friday came, and we planned our trip to the zoo, and we invited grandma Parke. I thought that the zoo opened at 10, so we left at 9:15 to get there...we soon realized that the zoo infact opened at 9, and was PACKED when we got there. We were excited, all for different things. Kylee was excited about the animals, she loves animals, and wants to work at a zoo someday! Go Kylee, that is one thing that I could never do. I have a hard time cleaning up after my own children, and their bodily fluids...animals are a whole different ball game! She wanted to see everything, except for the reptiles, and didn't want to stop even for lunch. Halle on the other hand just wanted to eat. She whined from the time we got into the zoo, until we finally got her something to eat 2 LONG hours later. She was hungry, thirsty, hungry, thirsty...you get the idea. Even once we got her some food, she still asked when lunch was?!? I think she was overwhelmed, and just wanted to go home. Now, Cayden was excited to go to the gift shop...isn't that the reason that you go to the zoo? He didn't want to see anything, he just wanted to go to the gift shop...he whined about everything that we did until we went to the gift shop. Then once he saw how stupid the stuff was there, he was fine. We rode the train, and then came home.
WHEW! What a long week. Clay has since informed me that our kids better realize that they aren't going to be able to "do something" every day this summer. They need to entertain themselves. I informed him that I just wanted them to have a fun spring break, but boy am I glad that it is over, and I don't have to hear that they aren't having fun, and want to do something fun this spring break. It's over, I am glad that I had a fun week with my kids, and they were able to do some stuff that we don't normally do, but I am even more happy to get back into our lovely little routine.
So, here are some pictures of our week's adventures. ENJOY!!! I just realized that there isn't a picture with me in it, there is a reason for this, I was taking all of them, and quite frankly I don't look to good in pictures. But, I really was there, for all of it!
